CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Alleged serial killer Stephen Port appeared on Celebrity Masterchef last year

Stephen Port, who appeared at the Old Bailey this morning, made meatballs with JLS singer JB Gill and actress Emma Barton, who played Honey Mitchell in EastEnders.

The 40-year-old, seen wearing a blonde toupee and chef's whites, also grins at the camera while working at West Ham Bus Garage last year.

Stephen Port allegedly poisoned them with party drug GHB then dumped their bodies in and around a local churchyard.

Port, who was advertised as a £200-a-night male escort, is said to have met his victims online and then invited them back to his flat.

Between June last year and this September the four men were allegedly given fatal doses of GHB.

All in their 20s, they were found dead within half-a-mile of Port’s flat in Barking, east London.

Most were considered to be victims of accidental drug overdoses until police launched a murder probe last week.

Recorder of London Nicholas Hilliard QC set a provisional date of April 11 for his trial.

Port was arrested last Thursday after a raid on his flat. He has been charged with four counts of murder and four of administering a poison with intent to endanger life or inflict grievous bodily harm.

His first alleged victim was university student Anthony Walgate, 23, from Barnet, north London, a wannabe fashion designer found dead in the street near Port’s home at 4am on June 19 last year.

Gabriel Kovari, 22, from Lewisham, south east London, was found dead in the churchyard on August 28, 2014.

MURDERED: Jack Taylor as found dead on September 14

Less than a month later the body of Daniel Whitworth, 21, from Gravesend, Kent, was found in the same graveyard.

Jack Taylor, 25, from Dagenham, east London, was found dead on September 14 this year.

The fork lift truck operator was last seen meeting a man at Barking station at 2am.

His body was discovered 300 yards from where Mr Whitworth and Mr Kovari were found dead.

On Facebook Port claimed to be an Oxford University graduate who had served in the Royal Navy and worked as a special needs teacher.

His “likes” include a number of gay websites and support groups. One escort site reviewer described him as a “dream come true”.

Last night Port’s parents Joan and Albert said he had been an art school dropout who trained as a chef.

Joan, 74, said: “I don’t think he has done it. He will have taken the blame for other people.

"He was like that at school, he didn’t speak up. They thought he was deaf because he didn’t speak up."

Albert, 73, who said his son had a girlfriend two years ago, added: “He is too quiet. He has been led astray."

Last night Scotland Yard referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Commission over the four deaths.
