Reports of an abandoned car left outside the normally busy Tube station emerged sparking fears of a terror attack.

The station was evacuated at around 8.30pm as Met Police rushed to reports of a suspected car bomb.

Officers cordoned off the area as they investigated.

Photos and videos emerged from the scene showing police cars surrounding the area as dozens waited for news.

People at the scene described on Twitter hearing the sound of a "large explosion".According to the BBC Radio London, police confirmed this was a controlled explosion.

Met Police retweeted Westminster MPS, saying: "Abandoned car on Baker Street that caused closures in the local area has been deemed non-suspicious. Roads now re-opening."The incident comes just days after the Paris terror attacks, where 129 people were killed.

ISIS have since threatened another mass scale attack in major cities around the world, including London.

Three London tube stations - Baker Street, Aldgate and Liverpool Street - have been evacuated in the past 48 hours due to security scares.
